What is a Group Planner?

Group Planner is a calendar in 3 or 4 dimensions:
Who, what, and when (plus optional customer/project no.)

The program has existed for many years as a standard computer application. The idea behind making the program available on the web is to give staff access to information even when not at work. So a typical scope could be work planning with a variety of shifts and where staff do not have daily access to the company network. It can be used both to record absence, which is the typical application of an 8-16 work place, or to register attendance. Or more broadly put: When resources are available or when they are not.

But it is also about team spirit ...

When working in a group - a team - putting a planned absence in your own calendar is indeed not enough. Your absence affects the group and therefore it should obviously appear in the group calendar: Group Planner.

Applications:

Your imagination is the only limit. Here are some examples:
  • Roster planning at a gas station or a restaurant
  • Work shop planning at a garage
  • Room rental
  • Who does what and when during a festival

The Group Planner and other calendar products

MS Outlook (and similar products) are individual calendars that are primarily designed to keep track of your own appointments. There is no shared reference to activity types. If we would like to do something together we have to schedule a meeting and find out when we are all available to cooperate. With Group Planner, cooperation is the rule, not the exception.

Google calendar is fine and it is free, but it has only one dimension - time. Group Planner has three dimensions: time, who and activity.

How can I get to try it out?

The first thing you can do is try the program in the demo version which you can find by clicking here . Here you can do almost as much as in the live version, but every day, all data is reset.

If you are satisfied, just create your own calendar. You will get it for free for 2 months. You can then continue as a subscriber with the data you've already created.

How will I make money?

The program has been used for years for shift scheduling based on the philosophy that individuals should have maximum impact on their own schedule. Everyone should be able to negotiate shifts.

Where there is flexibility, employees thrive and there is less staff turnover.
Additionally, the planner gets a good tool for planning, dissemination, and reporting.

The SMS sender.

SMS sender is a tool in itself that is embedded in the Group Planner. Tick one checkbox and you can send an SMS to all employees. It may also send SMS to the person in charge when watches are swopped, or send SMS to colleagues when a watch becomes vacant.

If you have an account with GlobiSMS.com , it can also be used here. It may makes it a little cheaper to send messages
